Galvanic treatment

Galvanic systems for treating skin are now very common, and there are a number of different systems for home use. Small, electric currents use the effect of iontophoresis to deliver a chemical through the skin. The mechanical effectiveness (micro-massage), however, is only of limited effectiveness, and most protein-containing biomolecules cannot be transported into the skin using galvanic systems, because the flow of current denatures the molecules, thus rendering them ineffective. For galvanic treatment, one always needs special additional products with ionizing properties to obtain lasting success. One advantage of galvanic systems for the user is that there are now systems that can be used for the scalp. There is, however, still no scientific proof of hair re-growth.
